Various sources indicate that Seventy-two people, including 13 US soldiers, have been killed and over 150 others injured in blasts close to Hamid Karzai International Airport (AKIA) in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Friday.
The Pentagon said the nature of the first incident was a suicide explosion while the second blast happened close to a hotel in the airport vicinity. A Taliban Spokesperson said the blasts happened in areas where US forces were in-charge of the security. Over 15 US soldiers have been injured in the blasts.
According to reports, Islamic State (Khorasan Province) has claimed the responsibility for the attacks. The attacks have been condemned by the UN, EU, NATO and a number of other countries.
India strongly condemned the attacks and said that world needs to stand unitedly against terrorism and all those who provide sanctuaries to terrorists.
