Assassination Attempt on Trump Shakes American Politics: Impact on Campaign and Public Perception

  • The fact that this incident happened just two days before the convention suggests that it may not have been a personal attack against Trump, but rather an attempt to prevent him from running in the upcoming Presidential elections.
  • There has been a series of anti-Trump attempts aimed at harming him personally and discrediting him to prevent him from running in the Presidential elections.
  • It is important to note that such an incident against Trump was anticipated by many political experts, Republicans, and even independent journalists like Tucker Carlson, who had previously warned about such scenarios.

Today, an unfortunate incident occurred in America that is likely to have significant implications for the upcoming American elections. At an event in Butler, Pennsylvania, an assassination attempt was made on former President Donald Trump, who was leading a Republican rally. Fortunately, Trump sustained minor injuries as he was only hit on his ears. Soon after, the security team was in action, but a bullet hit one of the participants in the rally who later succumbed to injury. It was reported that one attendee was injured in the incident.

The security forces quickly intervened, and it is believed that the mastermind behind this attempt was a 20-year-old American with far-left affiliations named Matthew Crooks. Crooks was reportedly positioned at a height of 125m giving him a clear view of Trump during the incident. Soon after the incident, Donald Trump headed to New Jersey and issued a message recounting the entire event. He expressed his gratitude to the security members of the United States and everyone involved in ensuring his safety. Additionally, he acknowledged and offered condolences for the two individuals who were injured and the one who died during the incident.

What is interesting about this development is its timing. The incident occurred just two days before the official Republican convention on July 15th, where Donald Trump is expected to officially become the Republican candidate for the November Presidential elections. Additionally, Trump was set to appoint his vice president at the convention. The fact that this incident happened just two days before the convention suggests that it may not have been a personal attack against Trump, but rather an attempt to prevent him from running in the upcoming Presidential elections.

It is important to note that such an incident against Trump was anticipated by many political experts, Republicans, and even independent journalists like Tucker Carlson, who had previously warned about such scenarios.

Target Trump!

This is not the first incident targeting Trump in the past year; there has been a series of anti-Trump attempts aimed at harming him personally and discrediting him to prevent him from running in the Presidential elections.

This began with the FBI raid on Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, where he was charged with mishandling classified documents after his presidential tenure. These political events were seen as efforts to undermine Trump and lower his chances in the upcoming elections. Trump has also faced felony charges, including sexual allegations and financial misconduct, also he has been found guilty of these charges and is there to receive the sentence.

However, the numerous judicial interventions against him are viewed as clear attempts by opposition parties to neutralize his influence. This raises questions about the neutrality and independence of American institutions. It is ironic, given that the United States positions itself as a champion of democracy, independence, and transparency. The ongoing developments in American politics suggest that the U.S. is not adhering to the principles it advocates.

It will be very interesting to see whether the assassination attempt on Donald Trump today was an independent act driven by the personal grievances of 20-year-old Matthew Crooks or if other people were involved. It is premature to conclude any external influences, as security services and investigative departments have just begun their investigations. However, if any external influence is found, it would not only be unhealthy for American politics and democracy but also indicate that the real perpetrators must be brought to justice.

What’s Next for Trump

Looking at the incidents that have taken place over the last year against Trump, specifically the failed assassination plot, it seems that the real winner is Donald Trump and the Republican Party. These events have not only created negative propaganda against Trump’s opponents but have also generated sympathy for Trump, consolidating his voter base and strengthening the Republican base.

When the FBI interventions and judicial charges were brought against Trump, his approval rating increased from 45% to 55%. With the failed assassination attempt, his approval ratings are likely to increase even further. This incident may position Trump as a favourite for the November elections, making it even more challenging for the Democratic Party.
